Ingredients

Scale

1 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
2 cups granulated sugar
3/4 cup Dutch processed cocoa powder
1 cup all-purpose flour
4 large eggs, room temperature
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup salted caramel sauce
1 tsp flaky sea salt

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
Whisk the melted butter, granulated sugar, and cocoa powder in a large mixing bowl until smooth and glossy.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition.
Fold in the flour and vanilla extract using a silicone spatula until just combined.
Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
Bake for 15 minutes, then remove carefully from the oven.
Drizzle the salted caramel sauce over the semi-set batter, leaving a one-inch border around the edges.
Top with the remaining brownie batter and return to the oven for an additional 15 minutes.
Sprinkle with flaky sea salt before cooling completely on a wire rack.

Notes

Ensure you spoon and level your flour to avoid a cakey texture. The brownies must be fully cooled before slicing to maintain the structural layers. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
