These Baked French Dip Biscuits are an accessible, savory treat that brings the classic flavors of a bistro roast beef sandwich into a convenient, handheld form. Perfect for busy weeknights or casual get-togethers, this recipe uses fluffy refrigerated biscuit dough stuffed with juicy roast beef and gooey melted provolone. Each bite is complemented by a rich, seasoned beef au jus for dipping, guaranteeing a delicious experience that balances a golden, crusty exterior with a moist, flavorful center.

Ingredients

Scale

1 can (8 count) refrigerated jumbo biscuit dough
8 oz thin-sliced deli roast beef
4 slices provolone cheese, halved
2 cups low-sodium beef broth
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp garlic powder
2 tbsp melted butter

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and grease a baking sheet with nonstick spray.
Separate the biscuit dough into eight individual circular pieces.
Press each biscuit piece down until it measures four inches in diameter on a floured surface.
Place one half slice of provolone cheese onto the center of each flattened dough circle.
Layer one ounce of thinly sliced roast beef on top of the cheese slices.
Fold the dough edges toward the center, pinch the seams tightly to seal, and place seam-side down on the baking sheet.
Brush the tops of the biscuits with melted butter and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
While the biscuits bake, heat the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder in a small saucepan over medium heat until simmering.
Serve the warm biscuits immediately with the prepared au jus on the side for dipping.

Notes

Ensure you seal the seams of the biscuits very tightly to prevent the cheese from leaking during the baking process. If you prefer a richer au jus, you can whisk in a teaspoon of cornstarch mixed with a splash of water to thicken it slightly.
